Denmark's Orsted says not to pay for Russian gas in rubles
ZURICH, May 30 (PRIME) -- Danish energy company Orsted will not pay for Russian gas in rubles and does not rule out discontinuing gas imports from Russia, the company said in a statement on Monday.
"Gazprom Export continues to demand that Orsted pays for gas supplies in rubles. We have no legal obligation under the contract to do so, and we have repeatedly informed Gazprom Export that we will not do so. The payment deadline is May 31 and Orsted will continue to pay in euros," the company said.
The company also said that it will buy gas on the European market if Gazprom stops its shipments.
